About Karen

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Karen earned a BA Degree in Theatre and Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She made her Broadway debut as “Polly Baker” in the Tony-award-winning musical CRAZY FOR YOU, following her stint with the First National Tour as flamboyant socialite “Irene Roth”.

Her TV and Film credits include work opposite Robin Wright on HOUSE OF CARDS, Alec Baldwin on 30 ROCK, Guy Pearce and Amy Ryan in the film BREATHE IN and Jack Quaid (THE BOYS), as a hard-nosed psychiatrist in ABBERANT.

 

Karen has also appeared on BLUE BLOODS, BODY OF PROOF, GOSSIP GIRL, several episodes of LAW & ORDER, L&O: CRIMINAL INTENT, SEX & THE CITY, and she most recently Guest Starred on Tyler Perry’s hit show IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG.

In her many workshops, readings and concerts she has worked with Elaine Stritch, Gina Gershon, Margo Martindale, Marin Mazzie, Victoria Clark, and Will Chase among others.

Karen has worked on numerous commercials and voice-overs for such clients as Comcast (with Shaquille O’Neil), AT&T (with Barbara Eden), Bounty, Tylenol, Scrubbing Bubbles, Comtrex, Cepacol, Nyquil and a 5-yr campaign for Vagisil.  Additional voice work includes narrations for Discovery, Lifetime, and Animal Planet and providing the voices for “Grace”, “Karl”, and other wacky characters on the animated TV series KENNY THE SHARK.  Most recently, she voiced characters for the new international children’s show PAULI BROCCOLI.  

Karen also spent several years as a correspondent for the national talk show AMERICAN MAGAZINE.
